UPDATE!
During the COVID shutdowns, many bills were lost in the shuffle as legislators focused on the more important COVID related issues, but we have good news!
Our bill – An Act to Ensure Representation of Special Education Parent Advisory Councils on School Committees has been refiled by Representative Arciero and is scheduled for a hearing before the Joint Committee on Education on Tuesday, July 6th.

The Coalition for SEPAC Awareness, Massachusetts Chapter was founded by Kathy Healy Norton, Laurie McCarron, and Alicia Curtin Mallon. We are parent volunteers who are members of our local Special Education Parent Advisory Councils.
We are currently working on several projects including a SEPAC Bill of Rights, A SEPAC Awareness Month through the State House, and a House Bill, which will provide a non-voting, ex-officio SEPAC seat on School Committees across the Commonwealth.
Please let us know what your SEPAC is doing, and we will share your updates here. You can reach us at SEPACAwarenessMA@gmail.com.
